Gould Named President of Brooklyn College

Karen L. Gould, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at CSULB since March 2007, has been appointed president of Brooklyn College of the City University of New York. She will begin her new appointment on Aug. 15.

On July 15, the Office of Estate and Gift Planning at CSULB, will present “The Aging Parent Dilemma: Caring for Your Parents and Yourself,” a program to discuss a variety of issues related to the topic.
Employee of the Month: Leah Williams-Daniels
Leah Williams-Daniels, who has been on campus since 1988 and is currently the director of administrative operations in CSULB’s Department of Athletics, was recently named by her co-workers as employee of the month.
Bike To Work Day Winner Robert Leigh
Facilities Management’s Robert Leigh was honored for winning the top prize at CSULB for Bike To Work Day, an annual nationally recognized event each May to support bicycling as a sustainable commute option.
Lowe Selected as CSULB’s
2009 Outstanding Professor
Christopher G. Lowe, a professor in CSULB’s Department of Biological Sciences and an internationally recognized expert on sharks, rays, and marine fisheries ecology, was named the university’s 2009 outstanding professor.
